Under the first syllabus dot point in business studies, employment relations topic it lists government organisations.

i was wondering whether we needed to know or whether we would be asked the function of the AIRC for example or the function of the federal government.

yeah, thats a very likely question as far as I know. something like "describe the role of the government/IRC/Employment Advocate etc in this situation" or "explain the role of the parties involved in this situation".
