anything on my favourite playlists. which is usually slowish kind of lyrical songs, eg, snow patrol [their slower ones], you found me - the fray, hallelujah - rufus wainright, breathe me - sia, that kind of music.

Dammit, can't find the link but there was a study that found that slow, no-lyric music edged out slow, lyric-music followed by moderate and then fast music in terms of study effectiveness.

Selected Ambient Works 2 - Aphex Twin

I think I've conditioned myself to study more effectively when spinning it

If I actually want to get work done, I can only listen to chillout. Anything else will just distract me.

I find something with a good rock kinda beat going for it.

But I tend to find that 3 doors down, and that kinda alternative rock is best for me :)

Can't. I start singing or get the urge to pick up my guitar. I need total silence or my siblings annoying me.

That why I listen to non-lyric songs that are too layered to play with one guitar. :)

beethoven piano concerto's....
any instrumental music but mostly in classical or romantic periods, contemporary instrumental music (although is my fave) are usually wacky and hard to listen to during study. or any music without lyrics and is relaxing.
