hey yall! i have subject selections in a few weeks, and although i already have what i want to choose for subjects next year, i'm still kinda concerned about eng ext1 in particular. i'm definitely taking it next year (because i'll be short of one unit if i choose to take eng adv instead), but could someone share their experience with eng ext1 in y11? what were your study habits, how much study time did you have to put in each week, what the workload is like, etc. thanks!

It's a decent amount of work and I've enjoyed it more than Advanced as the texts are more interesting (Sherlock Holmes). I'd say it's definitely worth a shot, you have nothing to lose, you can always drop which is better than having the regret of not picking it up.

Personally, there wasn't much work and the assessments were all assignments for me. SplashJuice is definitely right in saying that the texts are way more interesting than in advanced. Extension also gave me practice to improve my skills in advanced.
