I hear they move quite quickly. You really have to be picking it up otherwise you'll struggle.Anyone know how Uni languages compares to HSC languages? :S
Very true. I did German during the 1st & 2nd semester of uni last year. In high school you definitely get a lot more support and time to really understand things and teachers have much more patience... at uni, you learn something, you might not understand it straight away but they may move on anyway. You'll find that in these situations, you'll just have to use independent study time to figure things out. Lastly, in many cases, you will be expected to have memorise a lot of grammar and vocab even though you've just learned the topic 1-2 days ago.I hear they move quite quickly. You really have to be picking it up otherwise you'll struggle.
??PS. oh-em-gee, i see you're doing LATN1600 - Introductory Latin 1? Note: Although it's an intro class, they mix it with intermediate students so it's a bit difficult as half the class and the tutor will be conversing in a much more higher level of Latin than you will probably know. My friend did it last year and dropped out cause of that. But then again.. that was last year's LATN1600.. maybe things will change ..? :S
