Since you seem undetermined about MATH1004/1005,
if you are interested to read, MATH1004 is like the easiest maths unit you can ever do at uni. And aligning isn't too bad either if you do well! The con is though you might find the stuff you learn in it stupid.

MATH1005 is harder (I imagine, although I did MATH1905). However, it's more useful for whatever science area you do later on since stats come up virtually everywhere!

Hey! Can someone please help me? It says when i enrol i have to pick my subjects like all you guys are talking about, but i thought it was rigid in first year - like you couldnt select anything because they have done it all for you, and also you dont find out these subjects ur doing until enrolment day? Am i right?
Depends on your degree. Some are set in stone, others are highly flexible, some in between.

What are you doing?

How do I overload subjects? Will I require special permission?

Up to 30cp is possible without department permission. Over that, you need the Dean's permission (at least in science).

This, although I'd note for any first years reading this that first years usually require faculty permission to overload.

And also - it's probably not recommended for you to overload as a first year student in first sem. YOu need to know that you can handle your shit before overloading.

Here's mine. Some aren't final yet, but most are going ahead.

Semester 1:
- CHEM1101
- MATH1011
- MATH1015
- PHYS1001
- PHYS1500

Semester 2:
- CHEM1102
- MATH1013
- MATH1014
- PHYS1003
- PSYC1001
PSYC1001 I'm not sure about, since I can't find any others in my options that look appetising in the least, or would go well with my strengths. Until then, that's just to make up Units.
Unless anyone can think of something else that would go well with maths/chem/phys.

Semester 1:

ECOP1001 - Economics as a Social Science
SCLG1001 - Introduction to Sociology 1
GOVT1105 - Geopolitics
HSTY1045 - Modern European History 1750-1914

Semester 2:

ECOP1003 - International Economy and Finance
SCLG1002 - Introduction to Sociology 2
GOVT1104 - Introduction to Political Science. Would consider doing World Politics but i've heard a few not so great things about it..
HSTY1044 - Twentieth-Century Europe or HSTY1031 Renaissance and Reformation (1498-1648), but probably the former even though HSTY1031 looks amazing, because it would probably make much more sense to follow modern european history with C20th European history..

Hey,
I got into physiotherapy at cumberland (first year this year) It says i have to enrol at the campus tomorrow but one of the things i have to bring is "The units of study you wish to enrol into or seek academic advice about"
Can someone please help me, i dont really understand what this means. Is there a link or something to choose my subjects off? Thanks :)
