No, MEng's are only useful if you want to become a project manager/go into an unrelated industry e.g. finance. It's considered a terminal professional degree. Much better off getting an MSc. in engineering, and then moving to a PhD (not a necessity)
I did mean to say straight into a management position, but obviously I didn't write that. Sorry Your Highness.

And a MSc makes no sense - science and engineering are very different worlds. Very different.
