u cant get much over 100kb/s on broadband... or so my friend reckonz. I get 1mb/s and 2mb/s on nice ass connections. This is cable, although standard downloading from normal sites is usually 200-300... I dont see a problem with 50kb/s

$60 a month for a 10gb cap, unlim/128k
they only just started to enforce their 'shaping after 10gb' condition,
i know this because ive downloaded like 110gb in one month with no speed reduction;

Hehe that's why you live near the cities :D
I'm paying $64 for Cable Unlimited and once (the old days of not-many-ppl-cabled-in-my-area) I get dl speeds of 1.1Mb/sec constant :eek:

no room on the cmux, u live more than 4.2km away from exchange, dont have full copper cabling, do u have a commander system (PABX system)?, are u using a prepaid phone?, do u only have a dedicated fax line?

I live within 4.2kms of my nearest exchange
we know about the copper cabling - were on pair gain - but so should my neighbour (the telstra thing in the ground is between my house and their house near the street.
We have no PABX
No pre paid phone
No dedicated fax line

Still dosnt answer why my neighbour can get it and why I cant. I can see out my window now.. the room where they have their computer and there 512kbps connection - and I sit here with my 28.8kpbs.
