day 4 will produce some interesting cricket i think. england only need 264 to win, and they have 2 whole days of play to do it. if anyone is going to take england over the line, it'll have to be pietersen.

but the aussies will come in firing, be it warne, lee, mcgrath or gillespie.

hahaha yeah. evidently whenever mcgrath is left stranded on say 7 not out, he will go in the dressing room and be like "thanks boys i was only 93 away from my first century". funny cunt.

Pietersen and G Jones will have to build a huge partnership if England are any chance of getting close. And I'm thinking a lot of England fans will be PRAYING that G Jones gets 50+ runs after his awful performance with the gloves.

i reckon it will rain for most of the day, we'll play for maybe an hour, lee will get jones and giles again, play will restart tomorrow around lunch and warney will finish the tail off to get a 5 for.

Play has restarted.

This is the third over of play so far:

50.5 McGrath to Giles, OUT: just short of a good length and outside the
off, Giles pokes at it and can only edge to Hayden at gully. The
bucket hands of Hayden swallow the ball and Giles is gone for a
duck!

England 158/7, Partnership of 0
AF Giles c Hayden b McGrath 0 (2b 0x4 0x6)
KP Pietersen 44* (57b 5x4 1x6) GD McGrath 13.5-2-26-2

50.4 McGrath to Giles, no run, short one banged in from McGrath and
Giles is forced to take evasive action. Expect plenty of short
stuff here with a yorker for surprise
50.3 McGrath to GO Jones, OUT: short one outside the off, Geraint Jones
goes for the pull and can do no more than spoon a catch to Jason
Gillespie at mid-on! Tame dismissal that and Australia are on
their way

England 158/6, Partnership of 39
GO Jones c Gillespie b McGrath 6 (27b 1x4 0x6)
KP Pietersen 44* (57b 5x4 1x6) GD McGrath 13.3-2-26-1

From here it is going to be very, very difficult with Warne and
McGrath bowling so well
Giles is the new man in
50.2 McGrath to GO Jones, no run, fuller and on the off, Jones chops it
down towards gully
50.1 McGrath to Pietersen, one run, a touch short and outside the off,
pulled awkwardly to the leg side

McGrath has Jones and Giles in the space of three balls.

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!!

Can McGrath take the last three and get a 10 wicket haul for the match? I hope so!

hahah that was too easy. England only beat us in 2 sessions the whole test. Even pakistan could manage more. Pretenders. Peteirson and harmy are good tho. Too bad shane couldn't get his 5 for.

Congratulations Aussies on a deserved victory. You struggled at times but showed class in the end to win.

the sri lanka - windies series is a bit of a joke, its basically a Windies 'A' team plus chanderpaul, while they have some ok bowlers, vaas and murali are running through their batting at will.

the poms have a pretty good bowling attack (though giles is so out of depth in the match it wasnt funny) but england cant bat, no wonder there were talk about pieterson being accepted as an english player. their future, unscarred "stars", vaughn, bell, flintoffed combined were dismissed fot less than what pidgeon scored .... and he hasnt even gotten out yet.
