Gillespie is all but out of the 4th test, seeing that he isnt in the squad for the two-dayer against northants.

Tait and Kasper are and are presumably fighting for selection.

i haven't seen much of Tait in action, oh well whoever it is it'll be better than dizzy. he's been given more than enough chances to find his form again.

The tour match is over with all batsmen getting good knocks:
hayden: 136
Langer: 86
Ponting: dnb
Martyn: 43 & 26
Katich: 63
Clarke: 124

Trent Bridge test starts Thursday, expected to be a batsmans wicket. A good toss to win and bat first.

Expected line-up:

Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Martyn, Katich, Clarke, Gilchrist, Warne, Lee, Tait, McGrath.
result: Australia by 96 runs. MOTM: Hayden

132 wont get you man of the match when your team loses tho... tait will proabably just edge kaspa, but you never know with the conservative selectors.

aus by 163 runs. motm: mcgrath

A BOWlinf lineup of :
mcgrath
lee
tait
warne

looks daunting you have the sheer pace of lee and tait, with the accuracy of mcgrath and the magic of warne--would be nice

as for the batting that where Australia needs to improve to win the series lets see how they ehandle the reverse swing..

we'll be lucky if there is much play. I know forecasters are usually wrong but looks like heavy rain is expected in Nottingham for the end of the week.

i'd still rate macgill over mcgrath. Stuey had a 220 run partnership with Thornely to save a match once. (even though he scored 20 something, it shows his defensive skills).
Never mind though, Stueys not going to be considered, since the pitch is doctored to neglect spin and warne.
