FTP is a type of service that basically works as like online storage. Like the internet works on HTTP, file transfer works on FTP. FTP is usually the way to upload files to webservers so you can see the files online.

So if you're ISP offers free webhosting as part of your internet package, you can FTP files into your webspace and download them again.

YAHOO SUCKS.

That is all.
haha why?
yahoo is excellent
its messenger (as in msn messenger, yahoo messenger) now has picture and avatar feature ;) and the good thing about it is that it supports offline messaging... u can send offline message and the recipient reads it once he/she sign in... and a BUZZ feature which emits a loud door-bell sound..
well for messenger ur choice really depends on ur friends, but not for email.

so, now the war for bigger mailboxes has begun..
first it's GMail.. with 1Gig mailbox I think... but ur emails will be scanned for advertising purposes.. well that's the last info I read... not sue about the size of attachments
then it's Yahoo with 100MB and 10MB attachment
later, it will be hotmail..

seriously, now that more and more people have access to broadband, why email large attachments?
FTP
I agree. The other option is to find some webspace and stick it on there (assuming the info isn't sensitive).

say, using that site that you "sent" some stuff to your gmail account.

Can you still save it to gmail or your email account? Cos it's not really "in" your account - and your email don't usually allow uploads just to keep in there do they?

yousendit doesnt really send it ...

it just uploads the file onto their server ... then they send a notification to the recipitent telling them that they have a file waiting for them ... and then they go to the link specified and download it for themselves ... kinda corny ... but it still works good ...

unless u know the email file size limit, there is no 'best' way.

best ways to send large files to an email is to... compress it!
