i love the adage; silly old hags cant always hide their old age. simple and brilliant.

i once left out 1/4 of a 3 unit exam which was on the back page; happy that was in the prelim course.

This happened in my 2unit exam 2 weeks ago:

22x = 11
x = 2

RAGE!! It was for simultaneous equations too, so you can bet that y was wrong as well :(

That's why you have to check your answers at the end. :)

I know .. I feel so beat up about it.

Anddd... I also completed a perfect square leaving the equation like this:

3x^2 + 8x -1 = 0

*sigh.

Lol... It was a multiple choice bit and they gave 4 options of only which 1 was obviously right because it the question was about the volume of a cube. All the answers has cm^2 except one which was cm^3. I spent like 5 mins out of the 10 mins for that section and I still got it wrong lol.

sin60/tan30
= √3/2 x 1/√3
= 1/2

ARRRGGHHH!!! it was division!!!

--------------------------------------------------------

form equation with roots:
3 and -4

x^2 + x - 12

forgot the = 0. No marks

-----------------------------------------

factorise 28 + 3x - x^2

= (x-7) (x+4)

supposed to be - (x+7) (x+4)

Well, our old Maths teacher told us about this one, unfortunately its not mine but he's a HSC marker so...

Simplify:
1 mark

b^2 + b + 1
Divided by:
b + 1

and they would cancel out that

b^2 + b + 1
Divided by:
b + 1

to get b^2

It's enough to make you sick, isn't it? lol

In year 11, after learning functions we had a short in class test where we had to sketch about 8 functions and state their domain and range. I completely overlooked the domain and range bit, so completely left it out, so ended up losing half the marks.

Thankfully it didnt count though :p
