well, you gotta agree that 2pac disses big pretty bad.
You can measure: who had better songs? who had better albums? etcgracie007 said:u cant really ask that...who was better. how do u measure it? they both brought stacks to the music world...seriously whenever thers hip hop tours or concerts on, they always talk about both of them, not just one. now that theyv died ages ago, ppl realise that they were both great, and that something like that shouldnt happen again cause its just a waste of talent.
Dont be so sureMc_Meaney said:Pac for sure
Here he discusses the environment of the institutions... as being secluded and being "trapped"... this refers to the racial segregation... being secluded from society; You know they got me trapped in this prison of seclusion
Happiness, living on tha streets is a delusion
Even a smooth criminal one day must get caught
Shot up or shot down with tha bullet that he bought
In the first line he discusses the risks of "hustling" on the streets... and the hate and violence within the black community..Nine millimeter kickin' thinking about what tha streets do to me
Cause they never talk peace in tha black community
All we know is violence, do tha job in silence
Walk tha city streets like a rat pack of tyrants
This section of the lyrics describes an important issue which is covered in the HSC English syllabus... (optional)Too many brothers daily heading for tha big penn
Niggas commin' out worse offthan when they went in
Over tha years i done alot of growin' up
Getten drunk thrown' up
Cuffed up
Then i said i had enough
There must be another route, way out
The idea of "Changing you're name" refers to having a clean start and "a different game" refers to a new career path.To money and fame, i changed my name
And played a different game
Tired of being trapped in this vicious cycle
If one more cop harrasses me i just might go psycho
And when i gettem
Finally to end this verse he explains the Violence towards authority due to abuse and harassment... And the feeling of being "cooped up" or "trapped"...I'll hittem with tha bum rush
Only a lunatic would like to see his skull crushed
Yo, if your smart you'll really let me go 'g'
But keep me cooped up in this ghetto and catch tha uzi
They got me trapped....
Self explanatory...Chorus
[uh uh, they can't keep tha black man down]
They got me trapped
[naw, they can't keep tha black man down]
Trapped
[uh uh, they can't keep tha black man down]
Trapped
[naw, they can't keep tha black man down]
How can you justify that?hiphophooray123 said:though biggies SHITS ALL OVER 2PAC IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE..
Biggie was jus a fuken rapper? listen to read to die and most of the songs in life after death, theres no fuken commercial music there.....by da way hiphophooray123, can ya send me the diamonds video from the concert pleasesam04u said:You can't compare Tupac with Biggie...
Biggie made commercialised music... targeted at record sales...
Tupac shed light on the poverty in the U.S and the segregation through the eyes of an african american male. Tupac will go down in history... and possibly studied in schools in the future.
As we study poets of the 19th and 20th century.. who described things such as the first world war.. or other things... his lyrics will be studied similarly....
Biggie was just a "rapper" and if he does go down in history.. it'll be as the rival of Tupac...
read the lyrics to "trapped" or "cradle to the grave" or "brendas got a baby" from tupac... you'll see that his lyrics are deep and meaningful... biggie just made commercialised music....
