The World Cup gathers much greater interest than normal club football, for those nations involved that is. It's only normal for ppl to jump on the football bandwagon for a month, and that's what makes the event so special.
No I agree and think it is amazing how much the world cup unites a whole coiuntry to support the team, whether they are long time fans of football or not. I think that is part of the beauty of the World Cup. I will still care about football for the rest of my life, but for now? I am happy to share this with everyone in Australia.

I do support and follow Dinamo Zagreb through the season, but there is jsut something FUCKING SEPCIAL about the World Cup.

Just thought I'd immortalise these words from American Coach Bruce Arena:

"This time around you'd probably say Australia and Trinidad & Tobago are the weak ones."

That is all

holy shit

well hopefully they win with that margin then

how much did u put on them? and whats the payout?
Well 3-0, I used the Sportingbet free $100 on that, @ 5.50 I think.
4-0 and 5-0 wit TAB, $50 each @ $13 and $17 respectively.

I need the correct score, not the margins. Togo scores and I'm all fucked.

I have to say that I am so relieved that Zjelko's mistake hasn't cost us our place in the up. He doesn't deserve that because, yeah, he can be a headacase, but having met him before, he is a great guy, very talented, hard worker. Glad the team banded back together to get that second goal and hang on. Just glad that Zjelko is now not the most hated person in the country - and the msot ridiculed in Croatia - he doesn't deserve that.

Can't remember what page the quotes are on, but gosh, I thought of you guys and eveyrone in Australia when we were down. I was thinking about how I could apologise for what my birth country did to our home country. Thankfully I didn't have to thinka bout that for long!

who cares......there were heaps of shit calls for both sides - we should have been awarded a penalty when one of the croatian defenders punched the ball away inside the penalty box, but we werent

AND that bloke got 3 yellow cards before finally being sent packing
lol thats the incident im talking about. the croat punched the ball away, and thats the only possible contact, as he never left the ground. so how can it be a corner for us if apparently they didnt touch it? obviously the ref saw something, yet didnt blow a penalty

Hey Minka what other games are you going to? I've forgiven Kalac. He shouldn't play but he's still an Aussie, you gotta love em (except John Howard).

200 bucks. pretty massive gamble.....although i spose in real terms youd only be down $70 if you got the score wrong, cause you got the 130 buck free jersey

togo's heaps shit though. hopefully france pull it off! for both our sakes..
Hm the free jersey is with Centrebet, which I have also opened the account.

Well yeah I hope I can pull it off, and SBS ain't showin the game live, gotta watch that game on the net.

We are def going to Australia vs Italy! We took an educated gamble when the draw came out, assumed Brasil would top the group and we had a 2/3 shot of Croatia or Australia being second. I know we are probaby going to a couple more, but I amw aiting on brother to give all the confimation and stuff. Also going to Germany v Sweden in Munich!

im so insanely jealous of you right now. although i dont remember sydney being this alive, ever........its the kinda stuff ill remember for the rest of my life and look back on and remember.....although itd be the same for you times a million
Also ridiculously jealous. But yeah, Sydney hasn't been this alive since I've been alive. Even during Olympics, they were never doing what we were doing this morning. Everytime the green man came on to let us cross the road hundreds of us would jsut storm the fuckn crossing and start moshing chanting for the Socceroos. it was insane, the cops didn't like it, they weren't that bad either though. Can't wait til i'm in Germany in like a week n a half, will be nuts!
