What personality are you doing? I'm doing Hatshepsut so obviously my answer would include things on how she promoted herself as a warrior pharaoh to maintain power that she strictly speaking shouldn't have had, while not actually being a warrior pharaoh, wheras if you were doing Akenaten like jimmik your answer would be totally different. I'm going to assume from the open nature of the question they expect several examples of different Pharaohs and how they used the military image.

Anyway... make sure you mention the kicking out of the Hyksos invaders because that's basically the main point relating the 18th to military exploits, also talk about Thutmose 1 and his military conquests etc, then link these to the image promoted in sources.

Basically I think you need to talk about how the military image promoted by various examples of Pharaohs in the 18th dynasty helped them to govern egypt, maintain power, increase the overall wealth etc of Egypt. I could be wrong but that's my interpretation.

pretty much the warior pharaoh image is about all the 18th dynasty kings trying 2 be stronger than the last it was founded by war (ahmose expelling Hyksos) then when amenhotep chose thutmose I to rule (thutmose was just a high ranked soldier) it reaffirmed the egypt was now military focused... also include stuff about propaganda and how egypt was establishing into an empire

hope that helps

the best example of the warrior pharaoh is probably Thutmose III...he had upto 17 campaigns and had was renowned along with Thutmose I, who is said to have started to really promote the idea of the warrior pharaoh. I would discuss the campaigns the leaders have been on and the way they promoted their campagins, like the Annals and the stelas they put up, such as Speos Artemidos. Also, discuss the fighting with Mitannis. it's a very important point as Mitannis ruled the northern Palestine region.

If any one gets a question like this they should rember to comment on such things as upkeeping Maat and fighting chaos, note on the nubian tribes, hyksos, etc. With the Nubians you can comment on how fighting the Nubians once a pharaoh come to power was a way of proving themselfs. Also comment on such stuff as 'the living god', etc.
