*too lazy to read topic*

SMH says;
1. James Ruse Agricultural High School
2. North Sydney Girls High School
3. Baulkham Hills High School
4. Sydney Girls High School
5. Sydney Grammar School
6. North Sydney Boys High School
7. Sydney Boys High School
8. Pymble Ladies' College
9. Moriah College
10. Barker College
11. Hornsby Girls High School
12. St George Girls High School
13. Hurlstone Agricultural High School
14. Sydney Technical High School
15. Abbotsleigh
16. MLC Burwood
17. Trinity Grammar School
18. Fort Street High School
19. Gosford High School
20. Merewether High School
... there's also a list at Northshore.

It depends on how it's calculated- some systems do % of students > 90 in each subject, and others do total number of students > 90, etc..

is getting in the top 200 even an accomplishment? I mean how many schools are there in NSW? Can't be that many.

How high up in the list would you say makes a good school. Top 10? Top 20? Top 50? Top 100?

And is it done by number of students who get over 90 or percentage of students? (sorry if this has already been answered)

Does our school rank from last year affect the students that are doing their hsc this year? cos the people from my school in 2004 did shit. Is there some scaling to it?

There'd be more than that.
approx 67,000 students in 600 schools would mean around 110 kids per grade and most schools don't manage anywhere near that. So perhaps 800 institutions that run the HSC?

No effect unless its some subtle psychological one....

Well according to this file.. can't remember where I got it but it's somewhere on BoS... it goes upto 618.

As for grade numbers.. Most of the schools in my area have intakes of 200+, some with 300+ students.. Baulko and Ruse both have a little bit under 200, Cherrybrook Tech supposedly goes into the 250+ range, etc..

kimi- in some schools they use past-hsc results to guesstimate how the next year's hsc will go.... but it's purely psychological.
