i went through and searched, of the major (by no means all) private and public schools

(just a sample, these schools have 4+ state rankings)

Private: total out of the schools selected (124)

Sydney Grammar : 31
Knox: 6
Cranbrook: 5
St Patricks: 7
Trinity: 7
Pymble: 13
Brigidine: 5
MLC: 9
SHORE: 10
Abbotsleigh: 10
Mountains Grammar School: 4
SCEGGS Darlinghurst: 10
Ravenswood: 5
Kambala: 9
Public: total out of the schools selected (152)

James Ruse: 44
Nth Sydney Boys: 2
Sydney Boys:13
Nth SGH: 6
Sydney GH: 18
Sydney Tech: 4
Fort Street:5
Baulkham hills: 13
Hurlstone Ag: 13
Cherrybrook+East Hills Tech: 10
Manly Selective campus: 7
Cheltenham Girls: 7
Hornsby College: 4
Hornsby Girls: 6
---------

Basically, i think private schools and public schools are both very well represented, private is doing very well but Ruse is a demon with it's 44.

what about st marys senior we got quite a few thanks

Re: Top 20 in Course List

can this scenario be possible?

your HSC results are pretty good like 2 band 6s and rest band 5, can you get UAI like 96 or 97?

i did say this was by no means a complete list at all.

i missed out Moriah College (who did great) for example, and i'm sure i've missed lots of other high performing schools as well.

it was a combination of: off the top of my head, the schools i knew of, and also the schools which happened to be in front of my eyes at the time.

i was sampling (sometimes at random) both public and private schools,

certainly not an attempt to comprehensively tally up for all the schools.

don't feel insulted, congratulations to St Mary's Senior for your great results :)

hey, where did you get the list from?

and on the BOS "first place in course list", only 1 person is listed in Chinese Background Speakers and ESL english, is it becasue only 1 person got above 90, coz these 2 courses have more than 1000 ppl?

The list was part of the HSC insert they'll have in the Thursday copy of the Herald. It was on the SMH website, but it was pulled because it's supposed to be embargoed.

Unfortunately, this is the intertubes we're talking about here.
