How to play them? You play the note with the trill sign and the one a tone down from it (in most cases) in a trill like fashion

i dont understand your query

Depends on the fingering. If I get the upper note as a 2, then it's a 1-2 trill and I play it with my thumb and index finger.

If the upper note is a 5, then I play it with pinky and ring fingers.

And you play each note as a... 32nd note. semidemiquaver or whatever

Actually the way you play the note depends on who wrote it and when. Ornamentation between Bach, Beethoven and Mozart are all different.

My question lacks clarity, what I'm looking for is practice tips on how to play trills. My fingers always stall whilst trilling, so how may I be able to stop this from happening

Play it slowly and work out what feels comfortable.
I like to start on my third finger, then second, thumb, then back to second, then repeat.
