UAC preference order quick question! (1 Viewer)

hey everyone,
kinda confused about the order for your uac preferences, according to the uac someone who had a course as their 7th or watever preference would be offered a position in that course over someone who had it at their 1st preference, as long as they scored a higher atar/was more competitive. But what if you missed out on your 1, 2, 3, and 4th preference, and thought you could get your 5th but someone else had your 5th preference as their 1st and they also scored an identical atar to you. so in that case who would be given the placement into the course assuming their was only one spot left?
sorry if its a stupid question

Cheers!

I have no idea what will happen, but it's extremely unlikely this will ever occur.

They'd offer both a spot
they usually have a percentage buffer system afaik
because some people usually change and shiz before uni starts
and they can always let in less/more people the next year to balance out the numbers

I think they both would get an offer because the one with the 5th preference didn't get their first 4 preferences.
