Maybe Matt went to St Pauls Walla and I am just confused....

We had lots of not so great maths teachers at AHS as well, except we also had some very good ones. There wasn't really any middle ground, the teachers were usually really good or crappy lol.

just out of interest, what r the english teachers like at ahs? i'm asking coz scots has never had a band six for adv or ext1 english, which u think someone at some stage at scots would get, and i know that people at ahs have got band 6s for english. i don't really think much of the english teachers here, but i don't know what teachers at other schools r really like...

Yah. Xavier M went to Scotch in Melbourne and is apparently going well down there and Matt did go to StIgnatius but b4 that he went to St Pauls (heavens knows why he went there of all places). Sarah Hen. is another Speech and Dramaer ex Scotsy that has run away to Melbourne, she's at PLC and I think I heard that she is Boarding Captain. It's funny to think that I was going to go there is year 11, thank god I didn't. So would not had fit in. lol

Sarahn - I regards to our english teachers,
hate to sound like a total sap but our english teachers are really good (but they won't spoonfeed you much like some schools do with English), there are a few dodgy new ones however the senior classes have the best teachers that encourage original thought and lots of discussion. We get Band 6s for English Ad (Ash didn't you and Rebekah get one?) and Ext 1 English results are generally really good. Ex2 English results at our school were apparently really fantastic last year. But taking it all in from every year, it is safe to say the AHS has been fairly consistant. The best bit is the fact that the English department at our school is really really friendly and by far the most social, they're always getting together (three english teachers live within a block of me...lol) so yeah. When you visit them they're always polite and helpful. Nice atmosphere unlike some of the other departments at our school...*thinks of Maths and Home Ec*
Maths? Dodgy. Just lost one of a remaining few decent teachers to retirement. Science? They're a funny bunch. :uhhuh:

Yeah I agree with everything Katie said. We do have really good Eng teachers. Bek and I did get Band 6's last year (I think we both got 90). I was the only one in our EE2 class that didn't get an E4 last year (Don't even get me started on that one...)... I was surprised that as a class we didn't do better in EE1 last year, but we still did well and were really prepared and stuff... well most of us anyway. Actually... the girls were, the boys weren't lol. I'm surprised to hear Scots don't get uber high english marks considering that your top UAI's usually whoop our school's.

Yes, the maths department has just had an unfortunate loss... the only reason I kept doing maths extension and why I ended up doing well in maths was because he was such a great teacher. Science are definately a funny bunch lol but they are friendly. History also used to be a good staffroom to visit but it has probably changed a lot now.

Oh yeah and I think Sarah H is at PLC. She still comes and has lessons off my drama teacher in her hols. She was in heaps of scenes in that film Strange Bedfellows, she had to sign a contract and go to Sydney for filming and all sorts of stuff and they cut nearly all her scenes from the film, how annoyed would you be!!!

This should be renamed "The Albury Goss Thread" lol

It's so funny how you can find connections to a lot of people in Albury. It was so weird when I went to Syd and met some Albury people I had not met before... as soon as I said where I worked and went to school we could immediately form connections. Everyone seems to be a friend or a friend of a friend of someone you know lol.

My dad was in the Border Mail today with the mayor lol. That was totally unrelated, but it was funny lol. He ran out to buy the newspaper at 4am because usually our shop is only in for bad things haha.

I didn't get the border yesterday, (my family and I call it the local rag due to its inability of reporting without bias...thinks of bypass issue) but did it have anythin to do with our delightful mayor *note sarcasm* being out on Sat night? I was in the Globe, having a drink and I look over and there he is, trying to strike up a conversation with some 'young' person with a photographer in tow.

I wonder if this is one of those pathetic publicity stunts to demonstrate how our council is helping the youth of our community...

Yes it was lol. I agree about the Border Mail's biased reporting... their reports on dean st crime have been so biased, they basically take the police reports and publish them without verfiying them. Unfortunately, I will probably have to try and get work experience there some day lol.
