Students walking in the Gwynneville and North Wollongong area after dark need to be aware of two recent incidents.

On Saturday 25 March about 12.45am two students were victims of an assault and robbery incident at the intersection of Robsons Road and Northfields Avenue where a male person carrying a knife threatened the students, taking personal property. A second offender carrying a baseball bat was also involved.

Last night Wednesday 29 March about 11pm a student walking home in Porter Street was the victim of an assault and robbery incident with the offenders similarly described from the Saturday incident.

None of the victims were physically injured.

Police are involved and conducting enquiries about these incidents.

Students should carefully plan their movements after dark and later in the evening when walking in this area.

Call Security on 4221 4555 or dial #3 from any Security telephone for Safety escort and provide at least 10-15 minutes notice.

If you see anything suspicious please ensure you call the Police or report to UOW Security Officers immediately.

i'm just glad i have no late classes. and not only that, but i normally get some of the bigger campus boys to walk me around fairy meadow after dark just in case

so obviously if you were around town yesterday you would have noticed the hundreds of Rebels.

There are some pretty hectic dudes, and holy fuck do they drink. It was pretty obvious that last night the locals/regulars were avoiding them and very weary of what was going on. quite a few had the impression that they were in town for some sort of fight, not true. obviously though, try and stay away/dont be a smart ass.

should be an intense rest of the weekend, wonder if there will be any good stories this time tomorrow

The cops were fucking dicks. A rebel was asked (by a guard) to smoke outisde. As he was walking outside a cop fully abused him, and then walked off without even waiting for any sort of reply. Yeah good work officer, get people angry and then fuck off.

The blues like to come in and watch the footy/stare at the dance floor, yep good work.

I love how they bolt melt/plastic over the top of half their number plate, lol...

When did they do renos? Last time I was there was towards the end of last year for TBE

when they got the separate stages. it used to be the woolshed and just have one main stage area. i think it changed late july / august time last year?

Someone burnt down a place in figtree friday morning. Its that restuarant on the princess highway opposite westfields carpark just before maccas.

GODAMN did that piss some people off, musta happened azt around 8:40 cause the traffic jam was backed up past figtree high. I left home early for some reason so it didnt bother me, but some people were soooo angry waiting to get to work, was like 9:20 and people sitting in their cars haha. Reason it took so long was they had to close down the left hand lane for fireengines and cops, so traffic turning into princess highway took up that little area, and traffic coming along the highway was left in the blue with only a handful of cars getting through every traffic change

maybe that had something to do with the rebels?
