Stazi went to usyd and turned out successful. Phredd went to unsw and knows casmira.

Let the 07ers judge which representative of their uni turned out better (not for the lulz, it would be lulz just seeing casmira's mug irl).

Also stazi is hawt. And only slightly homosexual. Close thread.

"The system is also being undermined by students with inferior marks paying their way into university and then transferring into the government-subsidised Higher Education Contribution Scheme 12 months later, avoiding up to $100,000 in fees." Again, complete nonsense. Those transfer students compete with other transfer students just like an ordinary transfer process, and they must meet the same cut-offs. There is nothing untoward about this.
Actually Domestic FEE paying students have an AVERAGE MINUS tolerence UAI of (-5 to -15) compared to a CSP HECS FEE course..

e.g.

B Arts (CSP) 09 UAI @ USYD = 75

BUT

B Arts (DFEE) 09 UAI @ USYD COULD = 75 -5 OR 75 - 10 OR 75 - 15..

so its easier to get into DFEE in the pass - no wonder why Kevin Rudd phased it out..LOL.. or whoever phased it out in 09...cause he wants all smarter people to try and get into CSP courses and hates students who dont pay their DEBT

It's not saying its not easier to get DFEE, it says once they were in DFEE it was just as hard for them to transfer as anyone else

What?! your confusing everyone

Its easier to get into DFEE, after the people who finish their DFEE course - they get their new marks (their UNI MARKS) and then use that to get into a CSP course..the UAI would then be useless to get into a CSP course as they more liklely have gotten a higher mark than their UAI..*facepalm*

The point is that once you're in uni, it is just as hard for a DFEE student to transfer to a CSP place, as it is for a CSP student to transfer into another CSP place

regardless, uni is a lot harder to the hsc which is dependent on much quality bullshit you manage to memorise. so how is it easier to transfer into the same degree as for a csp vs dfee.

the hsc is one year, you can only transfer after one year of study.

the person who has the higher uai has the greater chance of gaining entry into the specific program if they tried as hard as the dfee student. especially since in most programs to transfer after first year, it is a composition of 50% uni marks and 50% uai.

But then..the article seems to only focus on

1) Commerce/ Engineering degrees at both UTS/ UNSW..
2) High performing maths/english hsc students..

and thats all.....what about the rest of the courses the uni offers?? Like Advanced Science etc etc..what happen to them? ARE THEY COLLAPSED TOO?! *hopes so*

lol

If you actually attended the above institutions you may gain an understanding of why it may be hard to gain certain higher marks or even decent marks.
