Ok... so why do most the top HSC scorers choose UNSW? Is UNSW really better?

I want to do med or psychology or architeture. Which uni would be best for these courses?

yes, well newcastle is where its all happenning, not only for uni!!
lol, a bit of free town-advertising never goes astray ;)
its just your personal choice, if its possible, check out each of the unis and see which environment you most prefer, where you think you could spend 5 yrs or whatever.

Haha town! Finally someon admits Newcastle isn't a city. :p

What she said is right though. If you go and have a look at the unis you should try and get a feel for the place, but it's important to ask them about your course in particular. Some unis approach the same thing differently, and you may like one method/system better than another.

I thought Australian architects are like loved by everyone even though they are kinda going through major unemployment.

Going away sounds scary though, i'm not the adventurous type.

Don't you have to take a SAT exam for America?

Going to Japan sounds even more scary, the main language there is none of the languages i speak

thats not the point
im saying more of the top of the HSC cohort go to UNSW cause of med and law as a whole, not just law
usyd doesnt have a med equivalent, thats why it attracts less of the 99+'s than UNSW - thats just the figures, it doesnt mean one's better than the other because one has more 99+'s

don't you mean "my understanding", why would we give a shit about your opinion :p

although you're right, australia does not have particularly great architecture training, but iunny generally if you want a traditional, very theoretical course go to usyd, if you want a more technical course go to unsw, if you want a fairly well rounded course and get work placement, but have shit resources, go to uts.

I'm going a bit off the topic..

I'm not sure what course I'd want to do in uni. Is there such a thing as a questionnaire online that would give me an indicator of what course I'd like to do in uni?

do what i did!
get a piece of paper and write down what you want to study at uni, even if they're pretty different and whatever.. and then either look up the uac book to find a degree that offers all or most of what you want to study, or ask your careers coordinator (if yours is a rambling old woman who doesn't know any more than you do, then i would advise against this)
