Is buying books from there cheaper than going to stores like Dymocks? Or are they roughly the same cost?
They don't, as long as its a prescribed book (they stock more than just prescribed books) you can get the discount. How do they know what electives you do for them to determine the cost?

I want to get a programming book like php or C++ etc that's why...

I have no idea, I haven't been there for a while (heh). Just go to the counter and ask.Originally posted by Survivor39
so you do need to show your students ID to get discounts?
I only got 2 for session 1. You really only need 1 (the thick INFS textbook, not the Microsoft Access one)Originally posted by blah
How much are the books for software engineering altogether?
No, the discounts are already calculated on the marked priceOriginally posted by Survivor39

You can try the second hand bookstore, but you'd have to be very quick, as they tend to go really quick, some books will be up to 50% off retail. Alternatively, you can look around the noticeboards (near the second hand bookstore, or on the stairway from the Quad to the commerce courtyard) where ppl usually privately sell their old booksOriginally posted by @lbert3269
Hmm.. i'm a pooro so i'm gonna ask this on behalf of my fellow pooro friends as well as me. Where do i get second hand books from ? Would they be significantly cheaper than the new ones ? Should i get new ones or second hand ones depending on cost and condition ? Can i sell those books back when i've finished with them or should i keep them for future reference ? (Sorry about the bombardment of questions.. i'm just curious, that's all. Thanx) Cheers~! =)
can you tell me what the INFS one is called?Originally posted by McLake

Also, you'll need the MATH course packs (details will be given in first few maths lessons, bring around $70 dollars on the first day for MATH course packs)
