Nah they scale really well.

Back in my day, Doust said highest mark comes from about one or two students getting around 72/80.

Course by course basis

I know that higher maths and physics in first year (ok maybe not PHYS1231 since less than 40% of the cohort actually do PHYS1221) definitely scale (some more obviously than others) but I'm not sure what happens with the non-higher courses.

Heard last year sem 2, physics got scaled from 48ish to 50 cause so many people failed...

lewl physics 1a. good memories of that subject. Knew nothing in week 13 so started studying past exams hardcore and then redoing tute Qs as I went along. Nekminnit turns out to be my highest mark of that semester. (almost HDed it too)

Peter Andersen's slides saved me highly recommend having a look at that as well as the older lecture slides since i've heard this year's slides made by your lecturer in charge ain't as comprehensive as what it should be.

M&M and those topics are pretty hard relatively especially with the questions they can give you; that's actually the worst part of it

For recent years it'll be true, except your multiple choice is fucked up and you'll need to rely off HSC chemistry knowledge to answer such questions

From my experience I only did CHEM1011, not HSC Chemistry or prelim. I know for one that there was a crap tonne of content in the CHEM1011 course that was not covered in the MCQs, and friends told me that the MC was easy since it was all based off prelim and HSC chem.

From my experience I only did CHEM1011, not HSC Chemistry or prelim. I know for one that there was a crap tonne of content in the CHEM1011 course that was not covered in the MCQs, and friends told me that the MC was easy since it was all based off prelim and HSC chem.

That's annoying.

Hopefully the course I'm taking now has that content (chem1001).
