mcdonalds is actualy cheaper than uni food. I can get a small big mac meal for $4.95 and its $5 for a cheeseburger at uni and u dont get a drink or fries.

Yes.

McDonald's is cheaper compared to uni food. But Kingsford Maccas is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more expensive than other maccas, or so I've found.

Well it's not 'waaaaaaaaaaaaay' more expensive. It's 50c worse, at the maximum.

Maccas is always the value option, not the health option. Go to the Rege for the $7 steak at lunchtimes. It's one block up Anzac Parade past Maccas.

You'll find prices at Kingsford maccas to be identical to any maccas in the city. Not sure about "outer" suburbs.

Guys, campus food in general is over-priced and sub par.


There are plenty of places to eat, off- campus and they are just a short stroll away.

zomg the food is bloody expensive, but try the chicken/beef salad noodle at the pivilion. its actually okay. (im not sure if it'll cut ur life short by a few years, the beef looks kinda weird.....but meh)

You really dug deep and revived this thread, huh.

As far as im concerned, I prefer the quad over unsw fare.

Reason being that fair amount of students at unsw don't even have to go up to matthews in the first place.

Then again, the quad is only marginally better because I can sit on their lounges and eat either my own food or something else from outside. And also purchase some random lollies from the pharmacy across from the cafe.

Oh yeah, this thread was talking about uni food.

Basically, its all shit, its all overpriced and the only fucking reason I still eat it is because I'm too lazy to bring something from home and its a usually far enough walk to kingsford, meaning I don't always have the time to straddle along to macca's or yong jing or chad thai instead.

- Have Pho
- Laksa (well it isnt good and lol its like long line of asians like centrelink)
- sushi (but not cold enough)

overall food quality across campus is mediocre and costs too much, etc.
bring your own rations/food.
