I am the only user of my pc which is running xp. However, for some reason it keep logging on as an individual user, as opposed to just loading normally. I dont want/need separte user accounts. How can i rid myself of this infernal torture?

Can you elaborate? I don't quite get what you're trying to say.

Looks like i wont be stalking you at uni anytime soon.

Erm, well you can have multiple user accounts which are customised on your pc. They require you to click on a little icon on startup which annoys the hell out of me because my computer is a pile of shit and startup time is already long enough. I just want the pc to load straight away without having to click my little user icon everytime i turn the pc on. Its aggrevating.

I think the two options windows offers are a log on command thingy where you just enter your username and password (or leave it blank if you have none) into little boxes and press log on, or the picture thing you described. There's no way that I know of to avoid the log in screen altogether, but I could be wrong:)

I think you can tweak the user thingy in control panel under user accounts. Turn off the guest account and make sure yours is the only one, and make it so that u dont need a password. That way, XP automatically logs u on. Works for me. Well, did work for me, trying to fix my computer still :(

Ningas way works too, but not having an admin password means that you are doing about 80% of a hackers work if you are targeted.

yeah, it's good to have an admin and individual user account that has admin rights.
i just find it a safer way to do stuff.

on the other hand, i'm really lazy and just use my admin account :p
