using epigraphs in short story? (1 Viewer)

I can't find anywhere online whether I would be allowed to use an epigraph (given that it is credited)
since it's not an official published work idk how copyright applies :confused2:

The best epigraphs give the reader a glimpse into the tone or theme of the book or provide some context for the work. This literary device can be used in literature, academic writing, or even to open a short story or an essay

Yes I used an epigraph just mention at the bottom something like this:


Intertextual Sources:

Huxley, Aldous; (1932); Brave New World. Harper Collins Publishers.

so on so on...

make sure you speak about the epigraph in your reflection and how it helps achieve your authorial intent/purpose!
