Really does sound like a useless subject. I still want to do the IBT sub-major though.

Oh and let me add, Internet Commerce is one of the poorest, if not the poorest subject I've ever taken at UTS so far. ty of that subject, but I' getting off topic :p
Believe it or not it has become one of the most useful subjects I have taken. I run my own little IT firm and some of the ideas such as an "IT audit" and "Steps for Web work" I have integrated into our business. THe customers love it because these concepts are broken down into steps which I can explain to them in simple lay man terms. Thus they can track the stage of the project/website.

I still think Systems Modelling or ISP with the incomptent academic staff take the cake for the worst subject in the IT faculty.

Perhaps I should have worded it differently. Poorest in terms of teaching, layout, testing and so on, not in terms of content. If you looked at the content, it was a little interesting in some parts as you said.

I still feel that the content isn't thoroughly run through though (But I understand there is limited time. However, changing the tutorial structure enables ample time to go through these things I think.). The points you mentioned that you use in your IT firm weren't even described in the lecture properly, nor coherently. She'd be like "the first point is this, then we have this, then you can see we go to this and then this which makes up this process".

Only a little over 1 day to go :O

Worst IT Subjects:
1. Systems Modelling
2. Information, Classification and Control

Luckily these subjects are being destroyed due to restructuring from 2007.

well in this case i fell a little less stressed...

i'd say there must be some finalising the academic staff must need to do

keep an eye on the results in the next couple of days, then give the subject co-ordinator a call

NO SUMMER for you!
:( He's such an ass when he says that.

Or when he goes "Help me Buddha". Flamin' idiot.

He makes me think he's sexist too. Whenever a girl answers a question he'll be like "See that boys? They're moving to the top". etc. etc. But whenever a guy answers a question he'll never say anything of that sort.

Bah, at least as you said, no summer for me :D

Let's see.

- They now make you do a "self-study journal" as there is now also a participation mark for class. How is she to tell us how to study? She says that it'll help us study in the end and we won't need to do any notes. For me, this is a total waste of time because it is not how I study efficiently. Not to mention that you'd probably do poorly if you relied on those study notes alone and did not read the glossary a few times at least.

- The final revision lecture was literally an amalgamation of every lecture up to that date. So basically she just repeated some slides and so on over and over. Do NOT bother going. Period.

They should really do those quiestionaire/survey things after the final exam :p I have too much to write at times ~_~
The study journals - mate thats just a name they have given it. Read the book and make thorough notes! Perhaps everyone learns differently. But even if they wouldn't ask us to make notes, I would do them regardless - thoroughly from the book. You would definitely need to go through the glossary. Also, go through the flash cards on the book's website because it does help you brain storm over the main definitions.

Final lecture was very very useful. I emailed the lecturer questions regarding a few ideas I missed in the lecture and guess what there were questions that came straight from the revision lecture!

The video shown in 2nd last lecture was a total waste of time.

I am sure the lecturer is aware of student views.

Hmm where was that survey? I didn't get to fill any after the final exam? I did one around mid semester, and I had lots and lots to write. It affects things like promotion of the lecturers.
