People say "UWS can't slag off other unis because other unis are better". Well, that simply isn't true. It's just that UWS don't have arrogant and vile asswipes that have nothing smart or mature to do other than diss unis they don't go to. Making friends is cool! I met all these super nice and friendly people by sitting next to them at lecs and randomly start talking.. Until the lecturer starts speaking. Then its just random remarks at random things.

What good is an arts degree if you know shit all about the world around you? You can't learn experiance from a text book, you have to get out there and be in the real world first.

I argue how can you expect to do business if you dont understand what came before you, what the world was like, what instituted social change?

Very easily, the primary fundamentals of business are to do with rational and logical decisions, and applied theory, you need very little understanding of actual people unless you are doing an area like marketing. You think accountants need to know about the world around them?

Courses like Arts are important, they train people in social sciences and in subjects that are important and revelent to work.

But we don't need so many, there aren't THAT many jobs in the sector.

Without Arts there would be no teachers

Sounds like a Utopia.

Its the academics of the world that study arts such as Archelogy, Psych, History that are all extremly important in maintaing our own cultural identity.

And just what is our cultural identity?

Arts is also a very practical degree in that it provides people with further skill and education, with logical and reasoning ability above that of a high school graduate aswell as a handle on grammar and english that is above high school graduates.

So do many many other degrees, laws, business, computing, ect.

The more intelligent you are, the more employable you are because intelligence is an important

well my lectures range from 2-3 and sometimes 4 hours, because one is after another, and they do get boring, and having a friend to chat once in a while, to help each other, to copy something you missed, to share notes, to share text books, and the list goes on and on,
so i dont see why im lame to complain that i cant sit next to any of my friends

With all due respect to you mate, please don't talk in such tone. It simply makes you seem you have lost your argument and want to take it out personally. I know you have concerns, but the students on this forum want to work together to achieve something. If you come on here and support an negative collective that is contrary to this, expect some criticism, especially from those who have been in the university for over a year.

Look mate if you have a complaint about the university, take it to them. Don't name-call students here. One thing I will say about university, if you can't handle admin problems, then university isn't for you. A good student is able to learn by themselves, if you can't take our university because you think the air con is wrong or the lawn needs mowing, then time to consider other areas.

Many students with concerns should adopt the options available via student support services.
