You've said Kandinsky's name around the wrong way. Kandinsky is his last name.

I did Gordon Bennet for my essay. He is endlessly interesting. His performance piece where he whips and name calls a black box is interesting to talk about.

AND for anyone doing HENSON, there is a book released this week, called "The Henson Case" which would be well worth reading.
lol opps, MAH BAD!

hmm... im only doing 2 artists in my essay... (4 works in total)

theres no time to explain stuff if u do 4+ artists (unless ur only doing one work)
you cant develop a timeline for an artist unless u do more that one work (esp if ur doing a conceptual framework Q)

like i know my 2 artists inside out, back to front and know most of their works...
but i guess different schools have different styles

i agree with you :)

there is just so much content to know..plus the detail for the essays..
i have two artists i know in great depth and then i just 'know' my other artists..if you know what i mean?? just basic info and one artwork..in case my two artists don't fit in any of the given questions..

i hope bos is nice to us this year :p

Titian, Manet, Cindy Sherman, Orlan, and possibly Pipilotti Rist. I need to actually start revising them again though...especially Rist.

im going to use piccinini and kruger in detail hopefully in a post modern frame question if they give a good one ill talk about a few artworks for each.

im not sure if i should limit myself with just two artists so ill probably look over another 2 but in less detail, maybe warhol and duchamp?

how many artists are you guys planning to actually use in the essay?

i was thinking of just using two in detail

Id suggest studying 4 or 5 artists so you have variety when approaching the different questions.
I'll probably focus on Duchamp, Hannah Hoch, Kuger, Henson, and Pollock

Id also suggest choosing ones with artworks u actually like and feel passionate about...probably sounds real lame...but with that, u'll be more passionate when writing ur essay, therefore making a better essay.

Goodluck everyone :)

How come you guys have 4? Do you know them all in super detail or something?

i have quite a few:

the movements,
- Die Bleu Reiter and Franz Marc/Kandinsky
- De Stilj and Mondrian

- Goya
- Bosch
- Picasso
- Dali/Bunuel
- Wyeth
- Bacon
- Chapman Brothers
- Good old Henso, though i probably wont use him
