Okay.
I remember when my brother was in Year 12 and his bag was super heavy!!
Mine seems to go up and down, but is generally heavy.

So today I decided I would weigh it because it seemed really bad.
11kgs!!
No wonder people ask how I carry it around each day.
Also noticed stitching is just starting to come apart at the straps.

How heavy is your school bag?

wow, mine is super light.

I have a like a shoulder carry bag.
It has my lunch, and a text book or two, thats it.

I carry a folder with me.

You're a female right?

I don't think it's a good idea for you to be carrying 11 kgs around every day.

You weigh like what 45-55kgs?

Take a folder like Risole and thousands of others . Think minimal.

Mine has everything in it. Apart from textbooks.

I've got a book for every subject, 160pg ones, along with any sheets I've got for it.
Maybe 1L of water all up.
Pencil Case.
Lunch.

But yeah, I've no idea where all the weight comes from.

Would it be suitable to change to a folder now??

Nah I weigh more then that, and also strong.
But yeah. Today it actually heavy enough that I noticed.
Maybe because I was tired. :S

I don't use a folder nowadays, but I try to lessen up my load in my bags. Just bringing in the essentials and minimum books/equipment for each subject. Usually 3-5kg a day.

On a big day.
I will have my:

maths & eco text book
English Book
PDHPE distance book + text book
Pencil Case
Lunch

I hardly ever bring everything.

But a folder is definitly a great idea.

Stick to the bag and get your rocky on. Folders are bitches to carry around all day, they get absolutely rooted plus there's the (in my case) forgetting to take them with me where as the whole leaving your school bag is a little less easy to walk off with.
Haha, I do that too

I take a folder to school, I find it loads more easier than using books. However, depending on what I have to take to school, my bag gets pretty heavy alot of the time. Most days I have physics, chemistry or maths, or a combination of the three, so there are two or three textbooks that need to be taken to school.

My powers of perception tell me that you do not like your teachers.

im getting a laptop in a week. so my bag will be pretty much free of books.

theres SO MANY HANDOUTS
That's why I hated books, too many sheets, not enough effort to glue them in. Folders ftw.

Mine used to way tons before I could drive. Now I leave most of my shit in the car.

But before that I used to have changes of clothes and all sorts of junk in my bag because I'd usually have somewhere to go after schooll.
