did taking the CDRW make it run normally tho?... get it back to 'normal'/ running state.. .i dun think the power would be an issue... ive done worse(read:crazier) with P1 MMx 200 mhz.. with win98.. its a paperweight now tho :(..

umm as above mabbe sumfing broke.. at the same time.. or got broken by someone.. .. or ( i srsly doubt) bios change.. or cable is broken.. etc etc..

but i dunno about a power thing ,,

I know but it is sufficient for running the wiggles games and hi-5 crap

someone tried to GIVE me a computer for my parents work for the kids last week...I laughed at them, it was one of those dinosaurs with the turbo button, in year 9 I pull one of them apart to take photos for computer studies assignment

What did that turbo button do? I've always wondered that.

486 and older class CPUs could run at different clock speeds. the 486DX2 ran at 16MHz, or in "turbo" mode, ran at a blistering 66MHz.

So the whole Intel SpeedStep idea is not entirely new...
