Anyone have advice on how to cope with burn out :( Just started Year 12 and my motivation to study just plummeted after prelim exams...
I think probably the main advice I’d give is that although receiving criticism/unfavourable marks is harsh, there’s not really a point to continue dwelling on that. It’s only going to put you into a bad mood during Year 12. So honestly I’d just forget about your prelim marks, they didn’t count in the first place, just worry about what matters now and give it all you’ve got!

Your Teachers when they hear this: *tries to talk you into the beauty of the course*
Your family: *goes on a huge, 1hr rant about the importance of the HSC*
Your peers: *Expresses Sympathy*
jokes aside, here's my opinion on the issue since i'm also at a loss for motivation:
There definitly isnt one single way that works for everyone, since each person have their unique conditions/reasoning behind. So heres just a few things that helps me when im at a loss:
Firstly, know that it wont be long until the motivation automatically comes back to you, the problem being it comes back when you coudn't understand a single word the teacher is saying, and everyone seems to be doing fine. You do not want that to happen. At all costs.
If you cannot find any motivation from your self, the best thing to do is to find an outer environment that will influence you positively. I suggest forming a study group (not one that games/talks instead of studying) or going to a library that you like and study there.
For me personally, one thing that always works is going for a walk early in the morning around the neighborhood.
Hope you get better soon, Year 12 is important!

Hello 2021ers :D
333 days to the HSC if my maths is correct.

Here is a thread for some introductions and chance to meet other students in your cohort. Also a place for general chat about the HSC. :)

Some suggested questions
  • What year you are graduating?
  • What subjects you are studying?
  • What do you hope to do after HSC?
  • Good study tips / study break ideas??
All the best for the next 12 months !

how come?
Because I want to do medicine now, and even my basic mathematical foundation needs work.

Im going to either end up teaching myself maths after graduation for the sake of having some useful understanding or take a bridging course.

And because I’m taking chemistry without maths lmfao the logic

Year 7 and 8s are completely fine imo it's the year 9 and 10s that annoy me
love it when they move out the way when we walk by, and when they don’t sit In the canteen area because they know that’s our spot.

and when they come to me if they have any questions ahhhh I love it
