What computer systems does UTS use? (1 Viewer)

Im sure this has been answered before, sorry if it has.

Just curious as to whether UTS primarily uses mac or windows. And, which would you recommend to a incoming student?

not sure about anything else but communications, particularly journalism, info , media arts, all use Mac.

Windows is the predominant OS at UTS. Generally, Mac OS is available to students readily, but there are definitely fewer Macs than Windows systems. IT/Eng students can also use Linux (Fedora) in building 10.

Theres one mac lab in building 2 and im not sure about the other buildings.

why does this matter?

well if ur thinking of buying a laptop, it really doesn't matter - the wireless networks at UTS supports all OSes and we even have a dedicated wireless network for your smartphone (and/or iPod touch).

+ the good thing about the mac labs (there are quite a few) are that you will always be able to find a computer to use.
