its based on age, also you get payed less for the first 3 months probationary period. its like a complete tiered system going on how long you have been with the company and your age

im 18 and a casual at woolworths and im on about 13.05 an hr, although we just got a pay rise, think we get an increase of about 20-30c/hr every 6 mths until 2007, i think, the only change on weekends is sunday when its time and a half for a certian period then double time-im on about 18-20hrs a week, dont state you only want 10hrs a week, you have to appear really available and flexible for woolworths to consider hiring you, and yeah a nightfill shift in a longlife dept is about 4hrs, although produce nightfills can be about 8hrs

time and a half isnt paid at permanent part time rates.. permanent part time normal pay rates are LESS then casual rates, therefore their 1.5 rate is still less than casual 1.5 rate.. if thats what you meant?

because part time are entitled to sick leave and holidays -unpaid/ paid holidays and all that jazz so they can lower pay rates per hour. Whereas casuals dont get that so they get more money cause they dont get the 'benefits'. Well thats how it supposed to go i think
