What is everyone doing for their extension 1 major work? (1 Viewer)

I was wondering what is everyone doing for their extension english one major work no matter if it is crime fiction or revenge tragedy, i just want to know what everyone is doing?
I have to write a 5000 word story.

I don't have a 'major work'. I've had two assessments (a 1200 word essay and a 7 minute speech) and then I've just got the trial HSC exam.

A major work??? Isn't that for ext II? And 5000 words is really something.

All I had so far is a 10 min presentation on convention and diversity, and a creative task (1200 words) and an in class essay (question given) coming up this friday =.= , and then there is the the trials.

We don't have a major work. weve had two assessments bot essays and the trials at 1:30 today.
Its my birthday and i have to have an afternoon exam AND its ext 1 eng. My two most hated things of al!

Don't think "major work" is the right words but we had to write a 4000 word crime fiction short story. I wrote mine about a Glaswegian detective investigating a murder between football hooligans at a Celtic vs Rangers match, got 24/25

Probably helped that I lived in Glasgow till I was 13.

What the devil? Why would a school set a major work for Extension 1 ... it makes no sense.... the exam format is in two parts, 1 hour of creative, 1 hour of analytical... both probs looking at 1300-1700 each...

Oh well. Thinking they're getting the students ready for their exam-writing, doing a major work? Or is it an ELABORATE CONSPIRACY to make the students do worse!
