So I heard an incident of a kid who chose his related poem for belonging essay but eventually, his poem appeared in the HSC paper :awesome:.
So here's my question:
- Can he still use his poem for belonging essay?

yep, the marker may think you analysed on the spot and then used it in your essay. imo, it would actually impress the marker :D

You can use one of the comprehension texts as a related.

Here's a tip. If you're related text doesn't match up, use the comprehension texts.
Why? Most of the time, the paper has a theme and if it does, you can use the comprehension texts and save your arse.

Well In my high school experience, I've often had the lucky experience of having read at least one of the comprehension tests before...

* Fingers crossed it happens for HSC :p *

LMAO, using one of the comprehensions as your related, I wish you well on your endeavours crafting a band 6 response on the spot.

In terms of having your related as one of the comprehensions, what else are you supposed to do? You can sit there and do nothing and struggle to write a thing on anything else, or maybe you could actually continue with your paper.
