At one end of the scale I love to listen to Joe Purdy, he's so soothing but right before each exam i've been listening to Vitriol by Bluejuice and Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon and bellowing the words from the treetops

I can't study to songs with words, I'm an auditory learner, so it distracts me.
I can for some subjects but can't for others, bio I could but humanities subjects complete silence is good

Shiny Metal Rods by Aphex Twin. The repetive percussion gets me moving and working without distracting me from my actual work. Wonderful stuff

Anything mellow is good. If I listen to house or anything like that I get really pumped up and want to dance. Haha.

So Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio etc is good.
