Doesn't have one decent exchange partner in the German speaking world, the UK, or the US, so...

The standout institutions in the US are University of Texas at Austin, University of Washington and The University of Maryland. They're all considered "public ivies".

My understanding is that only UT Austin is the only 'original' public Ivy of your list. The new 'list' has something like 30 unis, which is pretty overrated, imo, because it excludes all the private unis, and includes campuses under one heading.

UT Austin is definitely a great uni (I assume it's great for law?), but I have no idea why MQ can't be partners with UCLA, Berkeley, Michigan, or Chicago. :(

For German they are cutting right back on all the partner unis and now are only focusing on three:

Giessen (where I'm going next semester) - near Frankfurt
Essen - on the Rhein...part of the Mega City of Koeln etc
Hamburg - largest port in Germany and one of largest in Europe.....

There is then also Berlin school of Economics which...as the name implies is economics and commerce based.....

All three of the main unis are good unis, Giessen is a uni town (something like 30000 students and 70000 people) and the uni has got a good reputation....

Essen, again a good reputation and well located to get places within Germany and France

Hamburg was my 2nd choice, good rep, good location - major city...

Thats all I really know about the German unis.....You should have gone to the Exchange fair which was outside E7B last Wednesday!

What level of GMN are you currently at?

I couldn't go to the fair. Thanks for letting me know about those three; I don't know what I'm going to do with the unis. I know I need to spend some time in there, even if it's one of those break units (I can't do the one this break:(), just don't know how.

but id reccomend doing an intensive course of german before hand - at least that way you can communicate with people when you go out!

from memory they said you could 2-3 semesters without speaking any german....
ah thats good.
I went to germany once. My parents have lots of friends in germany. So we got arund without a word of german quite well lol.
