Hey guys,

what pracs do you rekon they'll ask us? you know how they say "you performed a first-hand investigation ...", which ones are the main ones they're likely to ask?
it's usually 4 or 5 marks usually asking the method/results/and conclusion right?

i think it was a projectile question last year
(so definately not another projectile prac)

off the top of my head there's the
-a pendulum gravity prac
-a motor prac
-a generator prac
-some discharge tube pracs

I forget the rest
just read the syllabus, they're all there

I wont predict the prac, Im not that excited about physics :p
I can wait a few days to find out

i have a feeling theyre going to put in some of the old ppl pracs

like discuss the hertz/thompson prac to the cathode rays things.....

random guess though, dont take my word for it. :x

Id say there will almost definately be some reference to the pendulum/gravity prac. Its an easy one to remember though luckily enough.

For the discharge tube one do we only have to know that the different pressures affect the colour or what?

in biology they repeated a question from the 2003 paper, in chemistry they repeated a prac from the 2002 paper, in physics they could repeat pracs from any of the past years paper. they could ask us the following pracs:

To model generation of electric current by moving magnet

FHI to demonstrate motor effect

FHI to demonstrate production of AC

FHI to determine value for acceleration due to gravity using pendulum motion

FHI to demonstrate principle of AC induction motor.

Michaelson-Morley experiment

Thompsons cathode-rays experiment

Discharge tubes/pressures experiment

Anything on AC DC generators, impact on society & environment, advantages, disadvantages etc.
