So getting 75% in the exam (90/120) will translate into a band 6? WOW

Theoretically that means you needn't attempt majority of Q7-10 (which of course majority of people in the state don't) to get a band 6 (assuming of course you get close to 100% in Q1-6 tho :/).

P.S. I realise these are generalisations here.

Theoretically yes, but if you'd ace Q1-6, it'll be pretty fail if you didn't attempt the latter Qs.

Well I guess if you got up to Q8 with not much time left, it would be better to go back and make sure you have aced these qs as opposed to attempting the last suicide questions.

90/120 isn't enough

this year it was 94/120 but that's actually quite low compared to previous years

around 2 years ago it was 98/120 -- 100/120 or thereabouts

Q9 and Q10 aren't that hard if you know your stuff properly. People get scared cos the questions are worded awkwardly.

oh and I got about 98ish(probs counted wrong though) raw with a 93 exam mark.

100/120 seems a good mark to aim to.

the questions ARE worded awkwardly, the excessive use of words and not getting to the point resembles general maths.

what year was your HSC?

This would just allow the idiots at my school that can only do shit at home to get high marks. When they can't actually do anything without a computer infront of them.
