are a few good albums of our time and i don't really want to be subjective about them so i'll just list a few that i think should be in the list. They include:

*Blink 182 enema of the state
*good charlotte (self titled)
*korn - follow the leader
*red hot chilie peppers - califorication
*linkin park - hybid theory
*presidents of the united states of america - II
*unwritten law - elva
*anything by the beatles

well i hope some ppl like the albums but my list is based on rock music and not any other type of music so it might not be everyone's cup of tea! :D

Top 10?

Hrm gotta be some of the classics then.

In no particular order (hard to pick 10, let alone rank them!)

1. Marvin Gaye - The Marvin Gaye Collection

2. John Coltrane - Music For Lovers

3. Moby - Play (the one that initially got me into the ambient sector of musical lovin')

4. Gerling - When Young Terrorists Chase The Sun (seems to be a fusion of rock and clubby type of beats ++)

5. Ben Harper - Burn to Shine

6. Craig David - Born To Do It (as much as i dislike the rnb craze, strangely enough i can enjoy this album. I like nearly EVERY song!)

7. Pet Shop Boys - Discography

8. DJ Tiesto - Magik 6 (Live in Amsterdam). (The inital album that got me into tiesto, still wonderful.)

9. Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down & The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most (angst driven emotional rock. Sounds good, each song has a story).

10. St Germain - Tourist (electro jazz? Yes Please!)

There's my varied list, actually these aren't really top 10 favourites. These are the 10 that would perhaps define my musical tastes. Each album i find has great songs, but i haven't found those 10 single definitive albums that overall are great. There's usually one or two songs that i don't like, won't listen to again.

Too many to name! Although I'm a jazz fan at heart, Smashing Pumpkins takes the cake.

Does anyone have the album "I am Sam"? I just wanna know if any of the new renditions really do justice for the Beatles.

Woo! A fellow pumpkinhead :) Mellon Collie... is a top album.....
Anyways my favs:

1.OK Computer- Radiohead (This album is incredibly groundbreaking and brilliant, as perfect as an album can be)
2.Agaetis Byrun- Sigur Ros (Achingly beautiful soundscapes)
3.Kid A- Radiohead (Very diverse, innovative, a modern classic)
4.LP5- Autechre (Experimental electronica at its very best...and weirdest)
5.Siamese Dream- Smashing Pumpkins (Infinitely better than Nirvana's grossly overrated "Nevermind" the epitome of alternative rock)
6.Lateralus- Tool (Metal at its most melodic. Emotional and complex)
7.Adore- Smashing Pumpkins (Nice and simple, soothing. A great change from their previous albums)
8.Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness- The Smashing Pumpkins (One of the best double albums EVER, 2 discs, 2 hours of every single facet of rock music and human emotion)
9.Aenima- Tool (Metal which doesn't use screaming vocals all the time, nuff said)
10.The Bends - Radiohead tied with Amnesiac - Radiohead (both great albums, The Bends is what britpop should be, Amnesiac continues the brilliance of Kid A )

All the albums from 1-3 are pretty much pernament, but the
others usually change around alot, depending on my mood.

Hopefully this thread won't cause as much trouble as my "Top 10 Films" thread eh? Lazychic :);)

I would ad in John Mayer - Room for Squares.

Except the album is shit, the live bootlegs i've downloaded from his concerts are SOOO much better. Espcially the acoustic versions.

Hrm, here's a list of the albums that have influenced my musical tastes
