Wait so what is the difference between them?
A raw HSC exam mark is the actual mark that a student receives in an HSC exam without any adjustments of any kind. NESA does not inform students of their raw HSC exam marks, although students can request them from NESA at a fee.
An HSC mark refers to the overall mark that a student achieves in a particular subject. The one that students receive from NESA is subject to an adjustment called alignment. There are also variations of the HSC mark, such as the raw HSC mark, which is used by UAC. UAC converts raw HSC marks to another variation, scaled HSC marks, which UAC uses in calculating students' ATARs.
