nah, you dont understand...my manager put me in the wrong tax bracket (well, told me to tick the wrong box when filling my tax info in) and so i get taxed way higher than usual.

my last weeks gross earnings was $737.5 and they taxed me a whopping $218
which in this case, was taxed at 30%. not the norm
Sounds like you ticked the old "no thanks I don't like a tax free threshold I already work 20 jobs" box or the "I have a HECS debt" box. On that gross you should have been yanked around $147 in tax at a rough guess. If you are not desperate for the money then wait till tax time and enjoy the lump sum from the tax office. Otherwise talk to your HR department to get it fixed.

I'm a make up artist on the weekends, for the agency i work for i get $16/ph (tax)
and for make up application i get $65 (per person, which usually takes me 45mins) and thats in cash.
ka ching!!!
for my graphic work, it usually depends on what i do, corporate logo's etc
I recently made a flyer for an rnb club, took me a few hours (spread out) and that cost the client $120

oh i love both my jobs!

You have only just left school yourself and people in year 12 are paying you to tutor them?

Hmmm.
