I think wollenstonecraft looks like a nice place to live. Close to the city and doesnt have the congestion of NS

Sorry but - Chatswood is a hole (or at least the CBD is).

Anywhere where there is plenty of greenery, and you can walk more than one block without hitting yet another set of traffic lights and a wall of pedestrians. And preferably somewhere where you get a seabreeze in summer. Sorry westies.
Everything is convenient, I prefer to have people around everywhere,I don't like empty places(that are centred as a CBD), you can j-walk half the lights if you want. Plenty of parks around tbh

Chatswood I think goes pretty far as one of the best, almost everything is convenient here(even the ride to city is quite modest) and there is almost every facility around,North shore in general is probably one of the better areas to live in.
I think Chatswood is good as it offers a lot- dining options, public transport, safe, shops, etc... even better because I'm Asian (i.e. lots of Asian offerings). But given the price of Chatswood, I'm happy with my apartment in the city near Town hall.

That being said I do venture out to Chatswood whenever I'm up for yum cha or my car needs a service lol.

Wow this thread getting bumped :)

Anyway, would say Eastwood, Epping, Chatswood and Hornsby are good places for living. They are convenient and at least you have good dinning options, not to mention Sydney trains coming frequently to those suburbs.

On the other hand though, Eastwood median house prices were 700K 8 years ago (during GFC), today they sell for at least 1.3 mil. You can easily sell a house for 2 mil if you get mainlanders to buy your property.

Rockdale, general eastern suburbs or somewhere like maroubra. Good transport, close to airport and beaches. I live on the beach and it's shit, have to catch a bus then a train to where ever the heck I want to go
