Again from the FAQ, (See: http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=45484#postcount )

What is the text under the user's name eg. 'Assistant Member', and how can I change it?
This is called Custom Status.

There are several ways to be awarded custom status:

* Your post count is greater than 3000
* You have been a member of Bored of Studies for a long time (200 days)
Although i dont think those figures are 100% correct, however they give a general indication....

"Benefactor" is an appointed status, which is awarded for assisting others and having a consistant positive behaviour. It's for people like me for example! :D

I think the post count for Custom Status now is 2000 posts + not sure about the time period you need to be a member for, probably the same.

My name isn't a custom status, I'm a Benefactor automatic name there and so is Rafy

2000 posts for Custom Status? Woah.

Back in my day, Custom Status was available once someone reached Executive Member (400-800 posts).

That was back in the days of lenient BoS...
haha back in my day, you had to have 3000+ posts or have joined before sept 2003 :p

haha 3000 posts was a bit unrealistic. Considering only about 50 out of 93,585 members have currently more than 3000 :p
