at the start of yr 12 I changed from English standard to advanced....

I just used SAM and figured out that no mater my mark, i would get 2 - 3 extra UAI points if i got the same mark in English....
......I definetly should have changed, when we're doing shakespeare theyre doing RAW or something like that.....

any1 got any regrets over what courses they chose or changed???

Which is bad why? Yes the adv course has a lot of content but its a bit too late to be regretful. Keep going. :)

I regret choosing math. End of Story.

Maybe you should have done some research on scaling and crap before you dropped. Both courses scale the same, but align differently.

Eng stand and adv are pretty much the same course. You just study different texts but the syllabus remains sort of the same. Plus, adv scales better.

Tho someone else told me this, so I dunno if it's true or not lol >.>;

English Advanced requires a higher level of thinking.
Compare Close Study Of Texts (Standard) with Critical Study Of Texts.

The modules are quite different.
Then try Experience through language (Standard) to Comparative study of texts and context (Advanced)

Generally the Advanced people perform better and have greater expectations placed on them.
In our trials the Standard people were required to compose a speech that would last around 3-4 minutes as opposed to the Advanced people with 4-5 minutes.
