It's just really bigotted, arrogant and rude. I mean, I'm sure there are thousands of people (some of my friends for example) out there who are devastated that they didn't get the marks they wanted to get, and you get people on here saying things like "I got 99", and implying they're so great. I got 82.55, and am stoked with this, because I just wanted 78.05. We're the lucky ones, who got into our courses, and are not heartbroken we didn't get into oor courses, or uni at all. As for that thread on "I got 81.00 without doing anything", I think that girl is obviosuly up herself, but she did have a point about people who study from dawn til dusk, and get 80's and 90's. But regardless of whether or not you did, just be happy that you got into your course, I am, and I don't see why you have to boast about it.

So what you are saying is right...people who got 99, but didn't get into the course they want, would be unsatisfied.

Assuming the OP is serious: some people are genuinely excited and what may appear as boasting is not.

Other people are just douches.

Well, why shouldn't anyone with a good uai be happy?
I study like 4-6 hrs weeks before the HSC and exhausted after each day, while some of my friends were still going out and having graduation parties during the HSC exam. So do I deserve to be happy to compensate my loss during the HSC year?

being pleased about your mark is great, however it would be nice if one were more conscious and considerate of those less fortunate who didn't get their desired marks.

im not sure what OP is reacting to but i'm assuming he has a problem with people 'boasting,'and not merely happy. however he could be misinterpreting... the "implying i got a great mark" does sound suspect

hahahaha. Well surely if you got a good UAI you'd want to let people know. I mean, if you put in all that effort then you deserve to show off a little bit. And on the other hand if you got into your course then you should be happy with that.

98.75 :D

Alright, the truth is, it is a form of showing off and reassuring ourselves that the social suicide that we have all committed for the HSC is worth it in the end, in the long term that is.

If you tried and still didn't get what you want, well, that would ultimately suck, but as I've read many times on this board, there are multiple ways to get into the course you want.

But boasting is just so arrogant. I mean I could boast about getting 82.55 without doing barely anything at all, and the fact that in exams and assessments, I only aimed to get 78.05 UAI. I mean even in the actual exams, I never even bothered to tru to nail a question. But I'm just stoked I got into my course.

"I got 99", and implying they're so great.
How does that line signify that the poster's boasting about his mark. It's like someone saying they got 92 or 56. Its a statement, and you've chosen to add assumptions or implied something out of it. We sympathise with those who weren't able to get into the courses, but getting a high UAI can mean its a celebration for an individual.

he did have a point about people who study from dawn til dusk, and get 80's and 90's
You're obviously taking out your anger on those who have put in a decent workload into the HSC this year. It takes an awful amount to get a high UAI for people who want to enter courses such as Medicine or Law or w/e.

But regardless of whether or not you did, just be happy that you got into your course, I am, and I don't see why you have to boast about it.
You're basing your UAI on last year's cut-offs. For those who's UAI's are bordering on the required UAIs and sweating on whether or not they will increase/decrease this year, just be a little more considerate.

idk you are asian and a lot shorter than i am. What happens if you need to grab something off the top shelf but its out of arms reach and you have no objects to boost yourself with. I would easily be able to get this item,. I think that makes up for the few uai points you beat me by
