I'm noticing that a lot of advice given on this site alludes to trying to get the upper hand over your 'competition' at all costs i.e. take whatever means necessary to get 1st rank. This includes lying about how much you study, giving out wrong information, pretending to not know things that you actually do etc.
I understand that the HSC is a rank based system but its just not sitting comfortably with me that I have to do these things to achieve a good ATAR. Surely its not worth compromising your integrity for a few marks? Also, wouldn't helping others out also boost the performance of your cohort and thus own marks?
