Will this get me a band 5 in English advanced? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys! I'm aiming to get a band 5 in english advanced this year, but I'm not exactly what 'raw' mark we need to get it. I'm ranked 135/230 in a school ranked in the low 60's. (60 people from my school last year achieved a band 6)
If I get these marks, will I be guaranteed a band 5? - Low, mid or high?

Belonging essay - 12/15
Belonging creative - 12/15
Short answers - 12/15

Paper 2:
Mod A - 15/20
Mod B - 13 or 14/20
Mod C - 16/20

80% last year got you 90+. 80/105 - High band 5 or so, this is only coming from the many raw marks posted last year.

Good mark, I got 68% since I didn't answer the questions. I'm hoping for 72-74% for low-mid band 5.

if you did a commercial paper for English (Catholic/Independent) and providing the teachers that mark each module at your school are HSC markers for theat particular module then 80/105 should guarantee you BAND 6, e.g. the teacher that marked creative writing is a HSC marker for creative writing

1. There's no guarantees in HSC, you can always flop the external and end up with Band 5 or lower.
2. Even "HSC Markers" can mark differently at school as the marking scheme could be different.
3. To have an internal mark of Band 6 range, you're looking for around the 85/105 range.

2. No, they are not. Even commercial trial papers can have very, very different marking schemes to the actual HSC.
3. I was making a generalisation and note that if you're first, it doesn't mean you'll get Band 6 internally unless someone in the cohort gets 90+.

3. If you're first in class and score an 80/105 in the external exam (which is the highest mark in your class), and the cut off for band 6 in the exam is 80/105, then yes, you'll score an 80/105 externally AND internally - therefore a band 6.
